Gary Hunt has been Head of Trade and Investment for South China, based at the British Consulate-General Guangzhou, since August 2026. Prior to this, he was Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare for China at the UK Department for Business, Innovation, Science & Trade. Gary has held government positions in Egypt, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic. Prior to joining the UK Government, he worked in the industrial design sector in China, Japan and South Korea.
