The British Chamber of Commerce in South China hosted Geraldine McCafferty, the chargé d’affaires and deputy head of mission at the British Embassy in Beijing, during her visit to Southern China. The exclusive luncheon was held on Aug. 27 at Hotel Indigo Guangzhou Haixinsha.
The event was organized in collaboration with Pierre Mason-Perez, economic consul of the British Consulate-General in Guangzhou. BritCham Chair Jeremy Sargent OBE, Vice-Chair Mark Clayton, and senior members were invited to participate in the discussions.
Attendees from various sectors, including manufacturing, finance, law, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), delved into current trends, future prospects, and the regulatory environment’s impact on foreign businesses. They also explored ways to enhance trade and investment between British and Chinese companies in the Greater Bay Area.
The luncheon provided a platform for in-depth discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing foreign businesses in the region, fostering dialogue and collaboration between British and Chinese entities.
